Pueblo West, Colorado Community Hub & Local Resource Guide
Pueblo West is a large, unincorporated community in Pueblo County located just west of the City of Pueblo and directly north of Lake Pueblo State Park. It covers about 49 square miles and includes a mix of established residential areas, larger acreage properties, parks, schools, trails, shopping, public safety facilities and community organizations.
This Pueblo West Community Hub is designed to give residents, future residents and people considering a move to Pueblo West one practical place to find useful local information. It includes current resources for utilities, roads, government services, schools, parks, recreation, public safety, shopping and community organizations.
Because Pueblo West covers such a large area, services can vary by property location. Utility providers, wastewater availability, road surfaces and driving distances should always be verified for the specific address you are researching.

Pueblo West Location & Geographic Profile
Pueblo West is located about seven miles west of the City of Pueblo along the U.S. Highway 50 corridor. Lake Pueblo State Park forms a major part of the community's southern edge, while Highway 50 provides the main east-west connection to Pueblo, Cañon City and other parts of Southern Colorado.
The community's size is one of the reasons different parts of Pueblo West can feel very different from one another. Some homes are close to shopping, schools and developed residential areas, while others are located on larger lots with more rural surroundings and longer drives to everyday services.
Pueblo West also sits immediately north of Pueblo Reservoir, giving many residents relatively quick access to boating, fishing, hiking, biking and other outdoor recreation.
Pueblo West Utilities, Roads & Local Government
Pueblo West does not have one single provider for every household service. Water and wastewater are handled through the Pueblo West Metropolitan District, while electric and natural gas service can vary by property location. Road maintenance is handled by Pueblo County. For any specific home or parcel, always verify the provider serving that exact address before establishing service.
Water Service
The Pueblo West Metropolitan District Water Department provides water service throughout Pueblo West. The District operates the community's water treatment facilities, distribution system, pump stations and treated-water storage.

Wastewater and Septic Systems
Wastewater service is available in portions of Pueblo West, but not every property is connected to the centralized sewer system.
The Pueblo West Metropolitan District operates the wastewater collection and treatment system, while many residential properties use individual septic systems. The District states that its sewer system serves approximately half of the lots in Pueblo West, with many of the remaining residential properties using septic.
For buyers, sellers or property owners, this is an important item to verify for the specific address.
