FCC Florence is located on a 640-acre reservation at the base of the Rocky Mountains, approximately 25 miles from the Pueblo West Wal-Mart.

 

For those living in Pueblo West, the commute is a convenient half-hour drive along Highway 50 and Highway 67. This scenic route keeps you close to the action of the city while allowing for a peaceful transition between your shift and home life.

 

In addition to the beautiful Rocky Mountains, you will also see antelope, an occasional elk, and other wildlife during your commute.

 

Also, the Ft. Carson Army Installation is close so you will see many helicopters and an occasional fighter jet during this Highway 50 commute. The fighter jet flight pattern is from north to south at the Pueblo County/Fremont County line.

  • USP Florence ADMAX (ADX Florence): The nation’s only administrative maximum-security facility, often called the "Alcatraz of the Rockies" or "Supermax." By the way, the rumor that it is underground is false.

  • USP Florence High: A high-security United States Penitentiary.

  • FCI Florence: A medium-security Federal Correctional Institution.

  • Federal Prison Camp: A minimum-security satellite camp.
